WhatsApp after unveiling its live location feature last week for Android and iOS will now be rolling out more new features like Group voice and video calling.
With this feature the users of the Facebook-owned messaging platform will now be able to conduct conference calls in both audio and video format with their friends, family and other known ones. While the news of a roll out of such a feature by Whatsapp is not new, WaBetaInfo, a website that tests the new features for Whatsapp has officially acknowledged that the group video and voice chat feature is in the testing phase and will be soon be available to users of WhatsApp's beta version.
As per  WaBetaInfo, WhatsApp may unveil the group calling feature in its next beta update. It also states  that the application users can avail the feature in the 2.17.70 beta WhatsApp update. "The 2.17.70 iOS update has very hidden references to group calls! Before it was an internal news, now it's all confirmed. There are a lot of hidden references about group voice calls, but there is only one reference to group video calls. So group video calls are partially confirmed at the moment," tweets WaBetaInfo.
The announcement means that bets testers will have to wait for the next WhatsApp update to access the feature, indicating that the messaging platform may soon roll out the feature officially.
While some reports doing circles in the media also pointed that WhatsApp may roll out the group voice and video calling feature in 2018, but  citing  the fact that the update will come to beta users in a short while, there is a significant chance that the official roll out of the feature for all global users could happen in the coming month.
WaBetaInfo also reveals the details about WhatsApp's upcoming group calling feature in a note stating, "WhatsApp 2.17.70 sends a request to the server to ask if the user you are calling is in another group call... Note that these references we found are very strong (but they aren't visible for you at present) and they have allowed us to understand what WhatsApp is going to add in the application, as we did for WhatsApp for iPad."
Besides the group calling feature, WhatsApp in its next beta update may also roll out a feature which will enable users to"notify friends when you change your number." This news comes from Teknepolis - another technology website.
Then there is the revoke feature, which too is in a testing phase by WhatsApp. With this feature, WhatsApp users may "unsend" a particular message.  This feature will reportedly be termed as Delete for Everyone.
"The server finally works and it successfully recalls the message. It will be remotely enabled later and seen that WhatsApp 'enabled' their servers for the Delete for Everyone feature, it may really be enabled soon," states WABetaInfo in a tweet.
